In its second year, the Gorilla Sports Junior Talent Scholarship Program has been striving at recognising excellence in local sporting team players with the aim of boosting youth participation in football across the state.
We received a great response this year from clubs looking to support players in their community. Although we can't help everyone, we've tried to spread the allocated funds across as many clubs as possible and after extensive deliberation, Gorilla Sports is proud to announce its 10 winners for this year's Junior Talent Scholarship Program.
- Bilambil Terranora FC
- Brighton Bulldogs FC
- Brisbane Strikers FC
- Colleges United FC
- Gympie United FC
- Hampton Park United Sparrows FC
- Moreton Bay United FC
- Olympic FC
- Sarina Saints FC
- St Pauls Uniting Sporting Club
As the year continues, we will be reporting on the progress made by our winners over the course of the 2020 season. Keep a lookout on our social media pages and website to track the development of their skills and clubs.
This year's winners will receive up to 70% of their annual club fees paid for by GSA. The Junior Talent Scholarship Program is awarded to players ranging from 8-16 years, based on financial hardship considerations, as well as the player's commitment to their club and football.
The program has been designed to support talented players who might otherwise leave football due to the cost of playing, in turn alleviating the stress and financial burden team sporting costs may place on families.
The Gorilla Sports Junior Talent Scholarship Program 2021 applications will be upon us towards the end of the upcoming season. We encourage all clubs to look out for news about the program during the later months of 2020.
