In the PS4 NPL Queensland competition Brisbane Strikers are now into round 5 of the competition, most recently picking up a 1-1 away draw to Brisbane Roar Youth.
Three of their upcoming four fixtures are at Perry Park, including a fiery home encounter against current top 4 club Olympic FC and an away trip to newly promoted Sunshine Coast Wanderers.
Brisbane Premier League
The first round kicked off last weekend with North Star FC continuing where they left off after last seasons promotion with a strong draw at home against Caboolture FC.
After coming up from Capital 1 last season North Star face a run against some BPL mainstay clubs, with a solid start in the new league they will look to continue form this month.
Gold Coast Premier League and Coast League
GSA’s GC teams kicked off their seasons with Surfers Paradise Apollo supplying nearly a dozen goals with a 10-0 win, Tweed Heads started the campaign with a 3-3 draw at home. Pacific Pines held out a 2-2 draw at home against Runaway Bay while Mudgeeraba had a tough first weekend of the season.
Surfers have some exciting fixtures coming up this month with a highlight being a trip to Broadbeach who they tied on points with in 2019. Tweed continue their campaign with a trip out to Bond Uni.
Sunshine Coast Premier League
The two GSA representatives in the Sunshine Coast both got their 2020 started off with wins on the road last weekend, Gympie United comprehensively winning 4-0 and Beerwah Glasshouse prevailing 4-2.
Both teams continue on the road across the next month with the two sitting 2nd and 3rd respectively, we look forward to the GSA derby in round 6 at Beerwah’s home fields.
Brisbane Capital League 1
Samford Rangers have started their season running away 5-0 winners away at New Farm Park, they currently sit top of the ladder. Western Spirit made the trip away to North Pine who were recently relegated from BPL and fell to a 2-0 loss.
Samford Rangers return to Samford Parklands and will play three of the next four fixtures there while Western Spirit have only the one home game coming up against local rivals Ipswich City Bulls.
Brisbane Capital League 2
Westside Grovely kicked off with a 1-1 draw away against recently relegated Pine Hills.
They return home to Grovely Sports ground to continue the campaign against Bardon Latrobe both teams looking to pick up their first 3 points of the season.
Brisbane Capital League 3
Mixed results across the weekend for the GSA Cap 3 teams with Bethania prevailing 3-2 against Tarragindi whilst North Lakes Mustangs unfortunately fell to close rivals Narangba, despite a brace from Philip Lange.
Park Ridge started off their campaign with a tough trip away to Logan Village and unfortunately fell 5-3, similarly Redcliffe PCYC hosted Jimboomba but couldn't come away with a result going down 3-1.
We don’t have to wait long for a GSA derby as the two come together in Round 3 with Bethania carrying the form at this stage but with another round to play before the derby its anyone’s game.
