From the qualifying rounds to the upcoming quarter final, this year’s FFA Cup has been a fantastic run for the Brisbane Strikers. The performance of the team has been outstanding and as a long-term partner of the Club we wanted to reward the players for their achievements.
After the spectacular win against A-League Club Wellington Phoenix we approached Strikers management to suggest the creation of a unique kit for the upcoming rounds. The Club was enthusiastic about the idea and we set to work.
In creating the unique kit our design team drew on inspiration from the Strikers’ rich history and its role as a landmark club in the city of Brisbane.
The predominantly yellow strip is a nod to the kit worn in the Striker’s 1997 NSL grand final, and the star above the Club crest recognises that historic win. The royal blue feature across the jersey connects the team to their river city home and their role as the only Brisbane team left in this year’s competition. With such a rich club history we are proud to be part of this team’s journey in creating history of their own.
We’ve been thrilled at the positive response to the design and demand from supporters has been terrific. Although only a limited run of supporter jerseys is available now, fans should keep an eye on our social media pages for news on Strikers merchandise.
